The Houston City Council has approved its Action Plan for Disaster Recovery following the 2024 Derecho and Hurricane Beryl, with nearly a third of the money going to housing repair.

Houston City Council is set to vote on $314 million in disaster aid. Some leaders say not enough is going to housing in storm-hit neighborhoods like Oak Forest.

People have to stay off medians that are less than 6 feet wide. The rule does not apply to people crossing streets.

On Wednesday, Houston City Council approved more trucks for the department. This comes at a time when Solid Waste acknowledged delays with recycling pickup.
