Volvo has introduced its new XC40 T5 Twin Engine gas-electric hybrid Wednesday, making the Swedish automaker the first in the world to offer a plug-in hybrid version of every vehicle in its lineup.

T5 Twin Engine is the range-topping powertrain choice for the 2018 Volvo XC40, which will arrive in the United States for the 2019 model year at the latest.

Last month Volvo said the XC40 would also get two plug-in hybrid powertrain options, starting with a T5 Twin Engine variant and followed by the T4 Twin Engine.

This year Volvo finally has an entry in the fast growing compact utility segment as well with the new XC40 and it has a lot to recommend it.
